Arrest of suspect accused of raping 13-year-old child in Tehran

A man was arrested in Tehran on charges of raping a 13-year-old girl. The defendant's case was sent to a criminal court in a Tehran province for further review and investigation.

According to HRANA news agency, citing Javan Online, a rape suspect was arrested in Tehran.

According to this report, a young man recently filed a complaint with the Tehran Police Department against another man, claiming: "A while ago, I realized from my wife's suspicious behavior that she was having an affair with a strange man, but because I wasn't sure, I didn't say anything about it. But a while ago, I found out that the man had raped my 13-year-old daughter."

He added: "The stranger's name is Saman and he is an employee of a government agency. A few days ago, when I saw my daughter in distress, I asked her why. She said that she had been raped by this person at her grandmother's house. Then I will file a complaint against both my wife and the man."

The teenage girl was also investigated after filing this complaint. She said: "One day I was at my grandmother's house when Saman called and entered the house. After an hour, my grandmother went out to shop. When Saman saw me alone, he came to me and tried to deceive me with his words. I resisted, but he forcibly raped me. Not long after, my grandmother returned home and said that she had left her ATM card behind. When she saw me in that condition, she got upset and kicked Saman out of the house. Then she asked me not to talk to anyone about this, but a few days later I broke my silence and told my father the truth.

After recording these explanations, the young man and the complainant's wife were arrested, and the young man denied the charges during interrogation.

After the defendant denied the charges, the case was sent to a criminal court in Tehran for further investigation and review by forensic experts, and the defendant appeared in Branch 11 of the court.

In response to the questions of the judicial panel, the defendant claimed: "Due to my job, I had gone to the plaintiff's house and had to ask his wife some questions to do the work. When he saw us talking, he became suspicious and since that day he has suspected that I am having an affair with his wife. That is why he has filed a complaint against me."

With the defendant's statements recorded and the investigation completed, the young man will be tried at the same branch, presided over by Judge Heshmatian.
