Arrest of a foreign national on campus

The police commander of Pardis County announced the arrest of a foreign national for what he called “insulting the sacred.” According to him, the arrest was made in connection with content he published on social media.

According to HRANA news agency, citing Rokna, the Pardis police commander announced the arrest of a foreign national in the city.

The police commander of Pardis County called the reason for the arrest of this foreign national "publishing offensive material to Islamic sanctities in cyberspace."

Mohammad Hassan Mohammadi said: "The Damavand City Intelligence Police identified the suspect, who was a foreign national, and after coordinating with the judicial authorities, they arrested him."

Mohammadi finally claimed: "The defendant has confirmed his connection with anti-revolutionary groups during police investigations."

The report does not mention the identity of the detainee.
