Biden: We will confront Iranian drone attacks on American interests

US President Joe Biden has said that the country will not leave the Islamic Republic's attacks, including drone strikes, unanswered. He is referring to the recent attack on a US military base in southern Syria. The US holds Iran responsible for the attack.
In a press conference on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Rome, Joe Biden also referred to the Islamic Republic's obligation to return to the Vienna talks, as well as the country's drone attacks on US positions and interests in the region.
On October 31, Reuters published a report on the US President's statements regarding Iran.
Biden emphasized in this press conference that the country will confront any action taken by the Islamic Republic against American interests.
The US President has particularly emphasized countering drone attacks carried out by forces supported by the Islamic Republic against US interests in the region.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken also announced new sanctions related to drone activities in response to the recent attack on US positions in southern Syria.
In this regard, last week, the United States sanctioned Saeed Aghajani, commander of the Revolutionary Guards' aerospace drone unit, and three other individuals.
The United States has announced that the Islamic Republic is attacking American positions and those of its allies, either directly or by sending these drones to forces it supports in the region.
Among them is the drone attack on the tanker Mercer Street. Israel, the United States, and its European allies hold the Islamic Republic responsible for this drone attack.
It should be noted that the US President and the leaders of the three European countries involved in the 2015 nuclear deal met and discussed on Saturday, October 30, on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Rome.
These four countries have called on the Islamic Republic to return to the table for the revival of the JCPOA in Vienna. The sixth round of these talks ended on June 20, and since then, and despite the passage of more than four months, the Islamic Republic has not yet announced an exact date for returning to these negotiations.
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, recently announced that Iran will return to these talks before the end of November. It should be noted that the meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency is also scheduled to be held this month.
