Benny Gantz: Israel is updating its plans to attack Iran's nuclear facilities

Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz has said that the country's military is updating its plans to attack Iran's nuclear facilities.

In an interview with Fox News published on Thursday, Benny Gantz stated that if the international community does not take action regarding Iran's nuclear program, Israel will take action on its own.

Fox News says that Israel has identified many targets inside Iran that could be attacked to harm Iran's ability to develop its nuclear program.

The Israeli defense minister has said that if the world stops Iran (from its nuclear ambitions), that would be great. But if it doesn't, we must stand alone and defend ourselves.

Fox News says intelligence estimates indicate that Iran is likely to launch attacks against Israel in 2021 through its proxy forces in Syria and Lebanon.

Benny Gantz continued the interview by saying that the Lebanese Hezbollah group has hundreds of thousands of missiles.

Fox News says that Benny Gantz presented a secret map of the targets where Hezbollah stores these missiles, which showed that many of these rockets are stored in a civilian residential area along the border.

The Israeli defense minister said, "The map is operational targets. Each one has been reviewed legally, operationally and intelligence-wise, and we are ready for battle."

Fox News says the annual report of the Israel Defense Forces shows that Israel is preparing for a multi-day war with Hezbollah.

Israeli domestic media say that in the event of a conflict, Israel would target 3,000 targets in Lebanon daily and 300 fighters from this group would be killed.

According to the report, General Aviv Kochavi, Chief of Staff of the Army, said that since the beginning of 2020, more than 500 positions of Iranian-backed forces in Syria have been targeted.

Last week, US President Joe Biden ordered an attack on Iranian-backed militia positions in Syria.

The Joe Biden administration has supported the United States' return to the nuclear deal with Iran, saying the agreement will be used as a basis for addressing Iran's behavior in the region.

However, the Israeli prime minister said on March 25 that his government had “no hope of any nuclear deal with Iran.”

Addressing the leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran directly, Benjamin Netanyahu added, "With or without an agreement, Israel will not hesitate to take any practical action to prevent your extremist, superstitious, and brutal regime from obtaining nuclear weapons."
