More than 140,000 children in Iran have been left out of school this year

The Director General of Social Injuries at the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare announced the identification of more than 140,000 children who have been left out of school this year.
Ahmadreza Parandeh said on Wednesday, November 29, that 141,000 children who were out of school in the 2018-2019 academic year have been identified in the country, and that the "reason for these children's out of school" is being investigated.
The Director General of Social Injuries at the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare has declared "disability" to be one of the main causes of children's failure to attend school.
Previously, Masoumeh Ebtekar, Iran's Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, announced that, based on the latest statistics identified by the Ministry of Education, approximately 142,000 children across Iran are currently out of school in some way.
It was also reported that the number of girls dropping out of school was three to four times that of boys.
On the other hand, official statistics indicate that there are more than 49,000 children without identity cards in Iran, and children without identity cards are deprived of the basic rights of a child in Iran, including the right to education and medical care.
Not long ago, UNICEF announced that 100,000 children in Iran have been deprived of education and thousands of children have been deprived of basic medical care due to recent floods.
