Corona statistics continue to rise in Iran; 68,000 people hospitalized according to official statistics

Iran's Deputy Health Minister announced that about 43,000 patients infected with the coronavirus are hospitalized in the country and said that another 25,000 people are "temporarily hospitalized."
According to ISNA, on Wednesday evening, August 10, Qasem Janbabaei also announced an upward trend in the number of infections and deaths due to coronavirus in the northern provinces, Tehran, and Khorasan Razavi.
Meanwhile, Abtin Heydarzadeh, Deputy Minister of Medical Sciences of Gilan, referred to the hospitalization of 450 new coronavirus patients in one day and the total number of hospitalizations in the province exceeding the 2,000 mark, describing the current situation as worse than in March 2019.
Rashed Jazayeri, vice president of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari University of Medical Sciences, also declared participation in gatherings a "serious alarm bell" and that the conditions of the coronavirus outbreak in this year's Muharram decade were different from last year, saying: "Last year, we entered the Muharram decade with less than 500 infections, but this year there are about six thousand hospitalized and outpatient patients infected with coronavirus in the province."
Farhad Abolnejadian, president of Ahvaz University of Medical Sciences, also announced that 8,300 patients with coronavirus had visited hospitals in Khuzestan province in the past 24 hours. He pointed out that the number of hospital admissions was higher than the number of discharges, and warned about a lack of treatment capacity in the coming days.
Qasem Mashar Movahed, deputy head of the Neyshabur Faculty of Medical Sciences in Khorasan Razavi, also described the coronavirus situation in the city as "super-critical" and reported a severe shortage of medicine and medical personnel.
According to Mr. Mashar Movahed, the number of deaths in this city has tripled compared to previous weeks, and the number of deaths of people under the age of 40 in this city is increasing.
According to official statistics from the Iranian Ministry of Health in recent days, new records have been recorded in the country's coronavirus statistics, with the daily death toll reaching more than 500 and the number of new infections reaching more than 40,000 per day.
These statistics are being published daily, while the Medical System Organization had previously stated that the actual number of coronavirus cases in the country was three to four times the officially announced number.
Alireza Zali, head of Tehran's coronavirus response headquarters, also announced on Wednesday, August 10, that officials were "hiding" in providing the World Health Organization with the true number of coronavirus deaths in the country.
