The photographer who publicized Nazanin's tears for safe drinking water was fired.

While a year has passed since the video about the problems of the lack of drinking water in Sistan and Baluchestan has been broadcast, the problems of the people of the region have not yet been resolved, and the producer of the video has been fired from his job on charges of defamation.

Photographer and journalist Saeed Gholamhosseini said in an interview with Iran Television Channel 2: "After preparing a video report on the problems of water scarcity in Sistan and Baluchestan province and widely broadcasting a video of the cries of a little girl named Nazanin who wanted safe drinking water, she was put on forced leave for a while and then completely fired from her workplace."

This comes as ISNA news agency announced on Monday that 150 residents of Nowshahr city were poisoned and taken to the hospital due to consuming contaminated water.

According to the report, the director of the Nowshahr Health and Treatment Network said, "70 percent of those referred to the hospital are under the age of 14, and 35 of those poisoned have been hospitalized due to acute physical conditions."
Noshahr city is located in Mazandaran Province, on the shores of the Caspian Sea, and has a rainy climate.

The head of the Water Supply Jihad Center of the Iranian Ministry of Energy said last year: "Currently, more than eight million people in the rural population are facing water stress."
According to the Ministry of Energy's information website, widespread water stress has affected the lives of 13,000 villages with more than 20 households and 15,000 villages with less than 20 households.
