Christian Hamed Ashouri sent to Karaj Central Prison to serve his sentence

On Tuesday, August 25, Hamed Ashouri, a Christian, was sent to Karaj Central Prison to serve his 10-month sentence.

According to HRANA News Agency, citing Article 18, on Tuesday, August 25, 2021, Hamed Ashouri was sent to Karaj Central Prison to serve his sentence.

On Saturday, July 25, 2021, the Court of Appeals upheld the ten-month prison sentence of Hamed Ashouri, a Christian.

Hamed Ashouri was arrested by security forces in Fardis, Karaj, in March 2018 and transferred to Qezl-e-Hasar Prison, Karaj, for interrogation. He was temporarily released after ten days.

It is said that security forces searched Mr. Ashouri's home while he was in detention.

The hearing of this citizen's charges was held in March 2019 at the Fourth Branch of the Karaj Revolutionary Court, and based on the verdict that was delivered to Mr. Ashouri in April of this year, he was sentenced to 10 months in prison on charges of propaganda against the regime.
