Missile attack on Kabul airport in the final hours before US withdrawal

Kabul airport has been attacked again. The missile attacks are said to have come from an area north of Kabul. The US Department of Defense has reported that at least five missiles were fired at Kabul airport.
Kabul airport was once again targeted on Monday, August 30. The attacks come as the United States aims to withdraw all its troops from Afghanistan by the end of this month.
The German news agency, reporting from Kabul, reported a missile attack on the city's airport. The attacks were launched from the Khairkhana area, located northwest of Kabul.
The news channel "Tolue News" confirmed the attack in a Twitter post. On the other hand, CNN, citing a US government official, announced the number of missiles launched as at least five.
An accurate report on the number of casualties and the extent of damage caused by these attacks has not yet been made available to the media.
The missile attacks on Kabul airport are taking place despite the fact that the airport has a missile defense system. The German news agency continued its report by saying that the effectiveness of this system was tested a few weeks ago.
Warning about attack on Kabul airport
Videos of a car on fire have been circulating on social media, with the missiles believed to have been fired from the car towards the airport.
It should be noted that US President Joe Biden warned on Sunday, August 29, of the possibility of new attacks on Kabul airport.
Hundreds of people were killed and injured during an attack by forces affiliated with the "Islamic State" (ISIS) on Kabul Airport on Thursday, August 26.
CNN reported that the death toll from the attack was around 200. At least 13 American soldiers were among the victims.
ISIS has claimed responsibility for the August 26 attack.
It is still unclear which group carried out the missile attacks on Monday, August 30.
