Suicide of two boys aged 12 and 17 in Tehran and Abadan

On Saturday, December 12, a 12-year-old boy in Tehran committed suicide by shooting himself in the head. On the same day, a 17-year-old teenager in Abadan ended his life by hanging himself. The Iranian Forensic Medicine Organization has stated that the share of Iranian teenagers in annual suicides is more than 7 percent.
According to HRANA news agency, citing Hamshahri, at 2:30 PM on Saturday, December 12, the suspicious death of a 12-year-old boy in the Saadatabad area was reported to the Tehran homicide investigator on duty.
Following the announcement of this news, an investigation was launched and initial investigations revealed that the student's son had committed suicide by shooting himself with a Colt revolver. Thus, the crime scene team went to the scene and began investigations to find the cause of death. Initial investigations showed that the 12-year-old boy's parents had separated some time ago and he was living with his father, who is a doctor.
The report states that the student's grandmother was at home at the time of the incident, but while she was in the living room, her grandson went to his room. Minutes later, a gunshot was heard. The grandmother went to the teenager's room and found his body. Before his death, the teenager turned on the video camera and explained his motive for this death to the camera. He said that he was tired of life and could no longer continue with his life. He even left a handwritten note with this theme. At the end of the 12-minute film, the teenager takes out a Colt pistol and shoots himself in the head.
During further investigation, the father of the family claimed that he did not have a gun in the house and it was not clear where the teenage boy had obtained the gun. On the other hand, there was only one bullet in the holster and he ended his life by firing the only bullet in the gun.
