Behbahan Court Confirms Sentence of Three November 2019 Protesters to 13 Years in Prison

A court in Behbahan city has confirmed the 13-year prison sentence for three protesters who were arrested during the November 2019 protests.
According to HRANA News Agency, Sattar Afshinpour, Bahman Amini, and Mohammad Tayebi have each been sentenced to 74 lashes.
According to the court's verdict, Sattar Afshinpour has been sentenced to 11 years in prison and 74 lashes on charges of "destroying and burning banks and public places and disturbing public order."
In two other cases, Bahman Amini and Mohammad Tayyibi were each sentenced to one year in prison and 74 lashes on charges of "participating in public order corruption."
Behbahan city courts have previously issued convictions for 36 protesters arrested during the November 2019 protests.
The case of these three people was also among the sentences issued for 36 defendants, and after their objections, the final verdict in their case was issued.
During the street protests of November 2019, hundreds of protesters, some of whom were children, were killed by gunfire from security forces and police in several cities in Iran.
The Islamic Republic's authorities have not yet released an exact figure on the number of people killed in these protests, but Reuters news agency reported at the time, citing informed sources, that at least 1,500 people had been killed during these protests.
During these clashes in the city of Behbahan, numerous reports were published of clashes between police and protesters and violent confrontations between security and law enforcement officers and the public.
