Military and security forces shooting at citizens in various cities across the country is a common occurrence, sometimes resulting in permanent injuries or even death.
Article 7 of the Law on the Use of Weapons by Armed Forces Officers in Necessary Cases states: “When using weapons, officers subject to this law must aim for the legs as much as possible and take care that their actions do not result in death or harm to third parties who are not involved in the incident.” The note to this article also states that “the care and attention of the injured is the responsibility of law enforcement officers and they must take them to medical centers as soon as possible.”
