At least 11 migrants drown in Tunisian waters

At least 11 African migrants drowned in Tunisian waters on Sunday while trying to cross the Mediterranean to reach Italy.

According to Reuters, the Tunisian coast guard recovered the bodies of eight women and three children from the waters near the Tunisian port of Sfax on Sunday evening.

Tunisian authorities said about 30 people were on board the boat, which was supposed to take them to the southern Italian island of Lampedusa. The Tunisian coast guard is now searching for the remaining passengers who are missing.

Last year alone, 90 African migrants died after their boat capsized in Tunisian waters, one of the worst incidents in the country's waters.
