Reza Khandan: Australian prisoner in Iran has attempted suicide three times

Reza Khandan, the husband of Nasrin Sotoudeh, the prisoner's lawyer, says that the physical and mental condition of Australian prisoner Kylie Moore Gilbert is not appropriate and that she has "attempted suicide three times" so far.
Mr. Khandan wrote on his Facebook page that, based on news he received from Evin Prison, Ms. Moore has been in solitary confinement for a long time and is not allowed to communicate with other prisoners or shop at the prison store.
According to Mr. Khandan, none of Ms. Moore's complaints are sent outside the security department.
Earlier, in January of last year, a number of his letters had reached the British media, in which he had expressed his frustration with his situation, lack of money, and the Australian government's indifference.
In these letters, he also reported that the Revolutionary Guard had offered him to spy in exchange for a reduction in his prison sentence.
Kylie Moore Gilbert, a lecturer in Islamic studies at the University of Melbourne, Australia, was arrested in Iran in the fall of 2018 and sentenced to ten years in prison on charges of espionage. The university professor was returning to her home country of Australia when she was arrested at the airport.
Ms. Moore's case, like many foreign or dual-national prisoners, is a security one and its details are unclear.
