Chanting slogans against the Islamic Republic at Tehran's Sadeghieh Metro Station

As the people of Khuzestan continued to protest the water crisis in the province, a number of people in Tehran also chanted slogans against the rule of law. Videos posted on social media show people in Tehran gathering at the Sadeghieh metro station.

The protests of the people of Khuzestan continue for the fifth consecutive day. The sound of gunfire has been heard in Ahvaz and Susangerd. In addition, the protests of the people of Khuzestan over the water crisis have spread to other cities in the province.

In this regard, a number of people in Tehran have also chanted slogans against the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Velayat-e-Faqih. In one Twitter post, the people of Tehran have been called upon to rise up to end what has been called the “Nakbat of the Islamic Republic.”

On the other hand, it is said that a number of people in the Iranian capital have focused their attacks on Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, at the Sadeghieh metro station, demanding the abolition of the "principle of Velayat al-Faqih."

One of the Twitter posts reads: "Today's protest in the Sadeghieh metro started from inside the women's car of the Karaj metro and reached the Sadeghieh platform. They were all young girls and their first protest was against the train departure time. Before getting off, they coordinated to protest. Then the men supported them. The younger generation is rebellious. Women are more rebellious."

This user is referring to the reduction in the number of trains in Tehran due to the closures resulting from the fifth surge in the coronavirus outbreak and the Delta strain of the virus.

It is said that the gathering of people at subway stations due to the reduction in the number of trains has paved the way for public protests and slogans against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The gathering of people at the Sadeghieh Metro Station and the protest against the Islamic Republic prompted a response from Majid Rostami, Deputy Director of Operations of the Tehran Metro Operating Company.

Rostami referred to the "congestion" at some of Tehran's metro stations, including Sadeghieh Station, and said that train times on the seven lines would "return to normal." It is obvious that this measure is being taken to prevent "congestion" and "crowded traffic" and the consequences that result from it.
