Soheila Hijab, political prisoner: Today's young generation is not looking to see a face on the moon like the generation of 1957

Soheila Hijab, a lawyer and political prisoner, described the Islamic Republic as "a bankrupt and collapsing system" in a message she sent from Kermanshah prison and believes that "today is the era of the will of the people prevailing over the destiny of the people through the new constitution."

As the anniversary of the 1989 revolution approaches and government ceremonies begin to commemorate it, a copy of Soheila Hijab's audio message has been received by Voice of America, which also contains references to the generation of revolutionaries of that era and the claims of Ayatollah Khomeini.

Ms. Hijab says in this audio file: "You, the honorable people of Iran, have all the conditions for the formation of a democratic revolution in the country. Everything is ready. All that strong power for change is in the hands of the people's will. The Islamic Republic system and its constitution lack any fundamental and legal legitimacy. Those who seek the survival of this bankrupt and collapsing system by any means and excuse are considered accomplices in all the crimes of this government."

Stating that "this regime cannot be any other way," he clarifies: "This regime is not willing to leave reactionary relations, send weapons to terrorists, provide logistical equipment and financial resources to Yemen, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Syria, etc. It will not stop supporting terrorism."

This lawyer believes: "Today is the era of the will of the people prevailing over the destiny of the people through the new constitution. Today's young generation is very alert and, like the generation of '57, they are not looking for a face on the moon. They are not looking for a charismatic figure to whom they can entrust their will."

Soheila Hijab, who has now been exiled to Kermanshah prison, had previously announced in an audio message from Qarchak prison that she had no "fear or panic" of the Islamic Republic and had chanted slogans such as "Death to Khamenei" and "Death to the dictator."
