"Prince Reza Pahlavi": The Islamic Republic, an octopus with terrorist arms

In an interview, Prince Reza Pahlavi described the Islamic Republic as an octopus with terrorist arms that has its eyes on Tehran.
Yesterday, Monday, May 12, Prince Reza Pahlavi gave an exclusive interview with the New York Times newspaper, in which he spoke about the maximum pressure on the government of the Islamic Republic by the Trump administration, in return for the maximum support of the Iranian people for regime change.
In his interview, he criticized the Biden administration's disregard for sanctions against the Islamic Republic and called for increased pressure on the Islamic Republic regime, saying: "The Islamic Republic is a war-mongering government, the main source of instability in the region, and an exporter of extremism and terrorism. Over the past five decades, it is weaker today than at any other time. The Iranian people are trying to send a clear message to the world that if you want a real partner for peace, we are your partner, not this government that held our country hostage 46 years ago. They are friends of the Americans. If there had been no revolution in 1979, Iran would at least be the South Korea of the Middle East today, but instead, we have become North Korea."
In this interview, he stated to Donald Trump that maximum pressure against Iran could be to dismantle its nuclear program, confront the export of terrorism, and increase sanctions against them. Prince Pahlavi added on this issue: “This regime is inherently incompatible with the world, and waiting for the government to change its behavior is actually a waste of time. We saw that in the first term of the Trump administration, maximum pressure achieved results and further isolated this regime and limited the financing and fueling of its war machine. But unfortunately, this was reversed in the Biden administration! That is, the Islamic Republic had more than $200 billion from Iranian oil sales that it should not have. This helped them expand their power and support their proxies, whether the Houthis, Hezbollah, or Hamas.”
Reza Pahlavi also referred to the failed bombing of the Israeli embassy in London, following which several Iranians were arrested by British police, and described it as another example of terrorism and the export of instability by the Islamic Republic regime. Regarding the foiled bombing plot at the Israeli embassy, he added: “The Islamic Republic is an octopus with terrorist arms, whose arms are everywhere, but its eyes are on Tehran.” The prince also addressed the West: “Every time a fire breaks out, you send your fire engines here and there to put it out. But the problem is that no one has gone after these arsonists.”
In response to the question of “what regime change in Iran could look like,” Prince Reza Pahlavi said, “There is a logic that says, well! The first option is diplomacy, but if the first option doesn’t work, the second option is to attack the facilities or war! But instead of those two, let’s give the Iranian people a chance to solve the problem themselves, when you can’t reach a diplomatic conclusion and before you need military action! That’s the missing ingredient. We must not repeat the disasters of Afghanistan and Iraq after 9/11. Change in Iran is nothing like any of those scenarios that were catastrophically mismanaged. That’s what has made “regime change” so notorious, even though it is not wrong conceptually.”
