Hundreds of Iranian civil society activists demand end to hunger strike of five political prisoners

On Monday, February 8, more than 650 civil and political activists wrote a letter to five political prisoners, calling on them to end their hunger strike, which has entered its 27th day today.
These five political prisoners are Shakila Monfared, Sina Beheshti, Saeed Tamjidi, Mohammad Abolhasani, and Hamid Haj Jafarkashani, whose physical condition is reported to be critical.
The activists' letter states: "After the cowardly murder of Bektash Abtin, it was you, the imprisoned rights activists, who raised your voice of protest... Your voice was heard and touched the consciences of those who were aware."
The signatories of the letter added: "Now that a wave of support and solidarity has been unleashed for you both in prison, in society, and abroad, we humbly request, while thanking and praising your perseverance, that you end your hunger strike."
The aforementioned letter addressed to these political prisoners states: "Your health and noble life are the priority of every action and struggle. We stand up in your honor."
Civil activists have asked people to show their support for political prisoners and their demands by signing this letter.
