Ali Daei Rejects FIFA’s Invitation to Attend Major World Cup Event

Ali Daei had been invited by FIFA to attend the 2022 World Cup competitions in Qatar along with his family; however, he declined this invitation.

Ali Daei, born on February 4, 1970, is a retired football player for Iran’s national team and Persepolis club. In addition to playing in Iran’s Premier League, he has experience playing in the star leagues of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Germany’s Bundesliga. He is currently a football coach, businessman, entrepreneur, and founder and CEO of Daei sports apparel company.

Ali Daei has always stood by the people and supported them under all circumstances, which is a matter of pride for him. He also made headlines in recent days due to his sharp criticisms and verbal disputes with the Ardabil representative in parliament, following the death of a young Ardabili girl.

Yesterday as well, Ali Daei made headlines once again for rejecting FIFA’s invitation. Ali Daei spoke on his personal Instagram account about FIFA’s official invitation for him and his family to attend Qatar for the grand World Cup event. The text he published on his Instagram page addressed to the people is as follows:

“Greetings to my dear and honorable compatriots

During these days when most of us are not feeling well, in response to FIFA’s official invitation and the Qatar Football Federation to attend the World Cup, along with my wife and daughters, I gave a negative response so that I can stand with you in my homeland and express my sympathy with all families who have lost their loved ones in these days.”

Ali Daei also published another piece of news on his Instagram page to show solidarity with the Iranian people. He closed his luxurious restaurant named “10 forever” located in “Romacentre” shopping mall in Kamranieh, Tehran, for 3 days under the pretext of repairs. These three days coincide exactly with people’s call to commemorate the anniversary of November 2019. The Iranian people also realized that the repairs were a pretext and the main reason for the restaurant’s closure was in solidarity with the nationwide strikes of the Iranian people during the last three days of November.
