Narges Mohammadi's children: Be our voice so that we can hear our mother's voice

The children of Narges Mohammadi, a human rights activist who contracted the coronavirus in Zanjan prison, released a video asking everyone to be their voice so that their mother's voice can be heard.

In a video posted on social media by their father Taghi Rahmani on Monday, July 20, Kiana and Ali Rahmani say that they have not been able to hear their mother's voice for eleven months.

Narges Mohammadi, who has been sentenced to 16 years in prison, was transferred from Evin Prison to Zanjan Prison on January 25, 2018. Her charges include "gathering and colluding with the intention of committing a crime against national security," "propaganda activity against the system," and organizing a campaign to "abolish the execution step by step."

Recently, news broke that he and a number of his fellow prisoners had contracted the coronavirus, prompting around 500 Iranian political activists to write a letter to the head of the judiciary asking that he and other prisoners infected with the disease in prison be granted sick leave, but these requests have so far remained unanswered.

Narges Mohammadi wrote in a letter from prison after contracting the virus: "During this time, according to the orders of the Ministry of Intelligence and the Judiciary, I have been denied even the purchase of meat at my own expense. I have been prevented from providing books and my children's phones abroad, and I have not heard from my children for almost a year."
