Qatar calls for direct dialogue between Arab countries and Iran

Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, in an interview with Bloomberg News, insisted on dialogue between Arab countries and Iran. He announced Qatar's readiness to mediate between Arab countries and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Following the improvement of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and its allies with Qatar, the issue of de-escalating tensions in relations between Arab countries and the Islamic Republic has now been raised.
Reuters news agency, publishing a report from Doha, the capital of Qatar, announced the country's readiness to mediate between Iran and Arab countries.
In an interview with Bloomberg, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani spoke about the need to establish dialogue between Arab countries and Iran.
The Qatari Foreign Minister also stated that the country can pave the way for dialogue between Arab countries and Iran.
The Qatari Foreign Minister emphasized that negotiations and dialogue with Iran have also been raised by some other members of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani did not name these countries.
He also emphasized that Qatar continues to support the advancement of negotiations between the Islamic Republic and South Korea on lifting the seizure of an oil tanker belonging to that country.
The tanker was seized by the Revolutionary Guards earlier this month. Iran cited “environmental violations” as the reason for the seizure.
The Qatari Foreign Minister has also said that if both Iran and the United States are willing, the country can take steps to hold direct talks between the two countries.
