Corona in Iran | Warning about the occurrence of a "seventh peak" in spring

While the National Coronavirus Task Force has deemed Nowruz trips permissible for vehicles whose owners have received three doses of the vaccine, a member of the National Coronavirus Task Force is urging people not to go on Nowruz trips.
Hamid Suri, speaking to IRNA, said that the seventh peak of the coronavirus could occur next spring. He also urged parents not to take their children out shopping.
According to Iranian health officials, in the sixth peak of the coronavirus, 20% of cases are children.
Many experts have expressed concern that the National Coronavirus Task Force has only restricted vaccinations for drivers of passenger vehicles and has no plan to monitor the condition of the passengers in these vehicles.
Epidemiologist Babak Eshrati told the JamJam newspaper that if the country's officials are declaring travel without hindrance, it would be better to provide citizens with the necessary training on how to travel.
At the same time, many believe that the crowds in shopping malls on the eve of Nowruz may also lead to a wider spread of the virus.
The deputy head of health at Semnan University of Medical Sciences has warned against "normalizing" during Nowruz. Saeed Kasaian says the end-of-year shopping season may lead to a new spike.
A spokesman for Isfahan University of Medical Sciences has also predicted that the sixth peak, Nowruz, will continue this year. Pejman Aghdak said: "Given the number of patients hospitalized in the ICUs of hospitals, we must consider the possibility of mortality."
Official statistics show that about six to eight million eligible people in Iran have not yet been vaccinated.
Health authorities in a number of provinces have also reported low vaccination rates for the third dose, which has not yet reached 30% based on the total population of 84 million.
