White House cancels meeting with Israel on Iran

The White House canceled a meeting between the United States and Israel about Iran that was scheduled to be held on Thursday.

According to published reports, a high-level meeting between the United States and Israel on Iran was scheduled to be held on Thursday, June 20, but Joe Biden's senior advisors canceled the meeting by sending a letter to Benjamin Netanyahu through US Representative Amos Hochstein.

The reason for the cancellation of the meeting was the release of a video by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in which he claimed that the United States was withholding military aid to Israel. Senior advisers to US President Joe Biden were also extremely angry about the release of the video and sent a letter to Netanyahu hours after its release, calling for the cancellation of the aforementioned meeting.

Benjamin Netanyahu had previously called the US government's decision to stop sending weapons and ammunition to Israel for the past two months illogical and expressed hope that the obstacles would be removed. He also stated: "US Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Israel a week ago and we had a frank conversation during which I thanked Washington for its support for Israel after the war in the Gaza Strip began. I also said one more thing, that it is illogical that the US government has refused to supply weapons and ammunition to Israel over the past few months. Joe Biden also emphasized in this regard that he will continue to equip Israel with air defense systems and other weapons."
