Leila Hosseinzadeh, a master's student in anthropology at the University of Tehran, was arrested.
According to a report by the Students' Union Council channel, Hosseinzadeh was arrested at his home on Sunday, August 26, and transferred to Evin Prison.
It has been reported that this student activist was summoned to the Evin Prosecutor's Office in recent days via a phone call and was scheduled to appear there in the coming days, but security agents arrested him.
Hosseinzadeh was previously arrested during the January 2017 protests and faced charges such as "propaganda against the system," "acting against national security," and "disturbing public order and peace by participating in illegal gatherings."
He was sentenced to 6 years in prison in the first instance, but this sentence was changed to 30 months in prison in the appeals court.
