Managing the Corona Crisis in 98 Countries, “New Zealand First, Iran 95”

According to the findings of an Australian research institute, New Zealand, Vietnam and Taiwan have had the best management of the Corona crisis. Three factors were examined for the research. The assessment of official data of Iran has given the country the rank of 95.
According to assessments and estimates by the Lowy Research Institute in Australia, New Zealand has had the best management in dealing with the coronavirus crisis.
After New Zealand, other countries from the same East Asia and Pacific region top the list, with Vietnam in second, Taiwan and Thailand in third and fourth, respectively.
Sweden stands in 35th place with its relatively different strategy of avoiding restrictions as much as possible and pursuing controlled herd immunity by relying on citizens' sense of individual responsibility.
The number of countries included in this table for comparison is 98, with Iran ranked 95th, after the United States and ahead of the three countries at the bottom of the table, namely Colombia, Mexico, and Brazil.
The Lowy Institute's estimates and the compilation of the table are based on official statistics from countries. In this regard, China is not on the list due to the lack of access to statistics on the number of people tested.
Given the assertions of domestic and foreign sources that consistently state that Iran's actual statistics are much higher than the official figures, it is unclear to what extent Iran's position on this list is realistic.
Iran ranks 95th in this table, one step behind the United States.
To prepare this study, the figures and measures of each country were examined within 36 weeks after the 100th case of infection was diagnosed in each of these countries.
The study's producers focused, among other things, on the statistics and figures that each country published in the aforementioned 36 weeks regarding the number of infected people, the number of deaths, and the number of people tested.
Germany ranks 54th in the Lowy Institute's ranking.
The Lowy Institute was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Sydney, Australia.
