The disappearance of a young female cyclist in Tehran

"I don't have a charger, my phone is turning off, don't worry, I'll be back home in half an hour." This was the last message that a young girl named Lida Kaveli sent to her sister's cell phone on Friday, June 19.

Lida Kaveli, a young female cyclist, has been missing since Friday afternoon, June 19, and has not returned home. There has been no contact or trace of her.

News of the disappearance of Lida Kaveh-e-Li, a cyclist, photographer, and resident of Tehran, is circulating on various social media platforms, and users have expressed concern about her fate.

Meanwhile, the young woman's family has also published her photos and profile on social media and has asked citizens to inform the family if they find any signs or traces of her.

After several days, the fate of this young woman has been shrouded in mystery, and social media users are speculating about what has happened to her.

Some have written that this female cyclist has been "threatened with acid attacks and death several times by Basij and Aqriyah militias for riding her bicycle."

Some have also written: "They were hiking and cycling, and there is a possibility of kidnapping," and have asked other users to refrain from spreading speculation.

Neda Kaveh, the sister of the young cyclist, said in an interview with Deutsche Welle Persian: "The news published on social media that her sister was threatened by the Basij because of cycling is not true."

Neda Kaveh says the only thing she heard from her sister was her cooperation in traffic and driving while riding her bike.

Ms. Kaveh's sister also said that after checking the CCTV footage from the shopping mall where her sister had visited, she believes that kidnapping is a possibility.
