Nasrallah: Second fuel shipment from Iran will arrive in Lebanon in a few days

Lebanon is facing an economic crisis and a severe fuel shortage. The leader of Hezbollah has asked the Islamic Republic of Iran for help. So far, one tanker carrying Iranian fuel has been sent to Lebanon. A second tanker is said to be on its way to Lebanon.

Fuel shortages and the removal of government subsidies have caused the price of gasoline and diesel to increase in Lebanon. The price of fuel products in Lebanon increased by 70% in just one day (Sunday, August 22).

AFP reported from Beirut on a televised speech by Hassan Nasrallah. The Hezbollah leader announced on Sunday, August 22, that the second shipment of fuel sent by the Islamic Republic of Iran would arrive in Lebanon in the next few days.

This is Hassan Nasrallah's second television interview in the past few days. On Tuesday last week, the Hezbollah leader also spoke about the imminent delivery of a fuel shipment from the Islamic Republic.

Lebanon is facing a severe economic crisis. It is said that the country's economic crisis is unprecedented since 1850.

The fuel shortage has caused many businesses to close, and even many government offices and institutions to close. It is said to also threaten the closure of the country's hospitals.

Regarding receiving fuel from Iran, Hassan Nasrallah said: "The second tanker will arrive in a few days, and other tankers will be sent after that."

It should be noted that Hezbollah and its leaders are considered a terrorist organization by the United States and a number of Western countries and are subject to sanctions.

The United States recently announced that it would work with Egypt and Jordan to resolve Lebanon's fuel shortage crisis.

Hassan Nasrallah has referred to America's efforts to help Lebanon as "empty promises," but at the same time said: "But if these promises are fulfilled, there is no problem. We have no problem with that."
