Khuzestan academics warn of increase in coronavirus cases
The Faculty Members' Association of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz has warned in a message about the resurgence of the COVID-19 virus and the failure of provincial authorities to implement decisive and effective decisions.
Khuzestan academics criticized "the simplistic nature of this viral pandemic and the lack of decisiveness regarding the continuation of necessary restrictions in the province by the authorities and those in charge of this matter in the provincial coronavirus headquarters," and noted that the province has once again faced the uncontrolled spread of COVID-19 in various cities.
The Ahvaz University Faculty Association has emphasized in its message that the large number of patients infected with coronavirus in Ahvaz and other cities in the province is disturbing and shows a disregard for the health of citizens.
Khuzestan academics called on officials to "think of a solution as soon as possible and, by continuing the restrictions, strictly prevent people from gathering in the streets and local markets."
The message from Khuzestan academics states that the hasty reopening of schools and universities in Khuzestan province should not be on the agenda because it could have very negative consequences.
The Faculty Association of Ahvaz University has called on Khuzestan citizens to avoid unnecessary presence in the city and to observe health protocols and instructions, especially social distancing and the proper use of masks and disinfectants.
