Iranian users' reaction to the activation of Starlink satellite internet for Ukraine

Following a request from a Ukrainian government official to provide internet in the country to the American company SpaceX, Elon Musk, the company's founder, announced that he had activated Starlink satellite internet for Ukraine.

Elon Musk's response to this request also had a great impact on the Persian Twitter space, and some users, referring to the Iranian parliament and government's plans to restrict the internet, complained to him about why he had not provided such an opportunity for Iran.

Mohammad Javad Azari-Jahrami, Iran's former Minister of Communications, also referred to the launch of Starlink in Ukraine and sarcastically wrote in a Telegram message to members of parliament: "If you do not provide them with appropriate service (of course, appropriate from the people's perspective), others will."

Yesterday, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Fedorov tweeted to Elon Musk that Russia is attacking Ukrainian civilians with missiles and wants to occupy the country, and in this situation, "we ask you to provide Ukraine with Starlink stations."

Elon Musk responded positively to the request, writing in response that Starlink service for Ukraine has been activated and more equipment is on the way. According to reports, this action is a preventive and countermeasure against Russia's attack on Ukrainian telecommunications equipment and Internet disruption in the country.

The American company SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk, has launched more than 1,600 satellites into space in a network called Starlink with the aim of providing internet access to most parts of the Earth, and has also received permission to launch 12,000 more satellites.
