Iran's Ministry of Health: Seven million people in the country have not yet been vaccinated against coronavirus

The head of the infectious diseases immunization department of the Iranian Ministry of Health says that "seven million people" of the country's population have not yet received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

Mohsen Zahraei told Islamic Republic TV: "We continue to recommend families to come for vaccination, because scientific studies show that vaccination can prevent 50 to 80 percent of others from contracting the coronavirus."

Meanwhile, the head of the Public Relations and Information Center of the Ministry of Health announced an increase in the number of patients identified with the Omicron strain in the country.

According to Mohammad Hashemi's personal tweet, the number of identified patients with Omicron has now reached 733.

The provinces of Hormozgan, Tehran, Khorasan Razavi, Mazandaran, Isfahan, and Markazi are at the top of the list of people infected with this strain.
