Pentagon announces killing of Qassem Soleimani; DNA test underway

A senior Pentagon official confirmed to Newsweek that Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the deputy commander of the Popular Mobilization Forces, were killed, and that DNA test results would "most likely" indicate that the two were targeted.
According to Newsweek, Soleimani, al-Muhandis, and Reza al-Jabri, the head of the Hashd al-Shaabi's protocol, were killed in a US drone strike near Baghdad airport.
