1900-year-old Bible discovered in Israel

Israeli explorers have discovered fragments of the Bible near the Dead Sea, as well as the 6,000-year-old mummified skeleton of a child and the world's oldest basket.

The Israel Antiquities Authority announced on Tuesday, March 16, that a scroll containing biblical texts has been discovered in a cave near the Dead Sea, the first such discovery in decades.

The scroll is written in Greek and dates to around 130 AD. The texts are likely part of the "Book of the Twelve Minor Prophets," the second major section of the Jewish Tanakh.

Discovery of the oldest basket

In addition to this document, the 6,000-year-old mummified skeleton of a child, a number of coins, an arrowhead, clothing, sandals, a louse-repellent comb, and a large basket were found.

According to experts, this basket is at least 10,500 years old and is considered the oldest basket in the world.

According to the Israel Antiquities Authority, some of the discovered objects date back to the Bar Kokhba revolt against the Romans, which was led by Shimon Bar Kokhba in 132 AD and was suppressed about three years later.

It is said that the hiding place of the discovered objects is inside a stone wall and cannot be accessed without a rope.
