Kohgiluyeh: Water worker dies after setting himself on fire due to non-payment of wages

The employee of the Water and Sewage Department of the Charusa district of Kohgiluyeh city, who had set himself on fire in front of the department's building due to non-payment of wages, died in Shiraz Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
According to HRANA news agency, citing ISNA, a waterman from Charusa who had set himself on fire two days ago in front of the water and sewage system in Qala-e-Raisi, the center of Charusa district, has died.
Sharmatullah Darbam, the district governor of Charosa, one of the city's districts, confirmed the news and said: "A waterman from Charosa who committed self-immolation on Monday in front of the Water and Sewage Department in Qala-e-Raisi, the center of this district, has passed away."
He added: "This patient was sent to Shiraz Burn Hospital for additional treatment, where he passed away this afternoon, Wednesday, June 24, 1402."
It is worth noting that the reason for this waterman's self-immolation was the delay in paying the watermen's salaries as well as uncertainty about the status of the work contract.
This waterman, named "Saeed Farhadi," was an employee and waterman for the water and sewage department of the Charusa district of Kohgiluyeh city.
