Child abuse tops social emergency calls

The head of the Social Emergency Department of the Iranian Welfare Organization said: "In the calls made to the social emergency department regarding domestic violence, the most calls, in other words, the first place in the number of calls, are related to child abuse."

In fact, about 25 percent of total calls to the social emergency are related to the area of ​​child abuse, and overall, it can be said that the number of calls and identification of cases in this area has increased compared to the past.

He also said that the statistics on domestic violence in Iran are not accurately estimated because women do not typically complain about this issue, and it is not possible to provide accurate statistics in this regard.
