Israel Radio and Television Building Targeted in Attack

The Israeli military attacked the building of Iran’s Islamic Republic Radio and Television Organization in the capital.

The Israeli military attacked Tehran’s Radio and Television Organization building hours after a warning from Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz. According to state media reports, the attack caused significant damage.

In warning of the attack on the Radio and Television building, Katz stated in a statement: “The propaganda and sedition megaphone of the Iranian regime is on the verge of being silenced.” Images circulated on social media also indicate extensive destruction at the Radio and Television building. Eyewitnesses reported hearing loud explosions and extensive air defense activity around the capital.

Fateme Mohajerani, the government spokesperson at Iran’s Islamic Republic Radio and Television, announced following the continuation of Israeli attacks on various cities including Tehran, that in order to protect people’s assets, part of the capital market and stock exchange have been closed, and until stability returns to these markets, we must protect the public’s assets.

In addition to the stock exchange, offices and schools in Tehran were also closed until further notice, and some citizens left Tehran following successive explosions. It should be noted that gas stations in many areas are currently empty and out of fuel.
