Biden's conversation with the leaders of Germany, Britain, and France about the JCPOA

According to US National Security Advisor Joe Biden, he will discuss the JCPOA with the leaders of three European countries during his trip to Europe. The US intends to adopt common positions with its European allies regarding the JCPOA revival talks in Vienna.

US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan announced on Thursday, October 28, that US President Joe Biden will speak with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Emmanuel Macron, and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson about talks to revive the JCPOA.

Speaking to reporters in Washington, Sullivan explained that on Saturday, November 29, Mr. Biden will meet with the leaders of the three European countries that are members of the JCPOA to discuss adopting common US positions with these countries regarding negotiations with Iran.

Regarding the resumption of JCPOA revival talks in Vienna, Jake Sullivan also said that it is still unclear to him whether the Iranians are ready to return to negotiations.

Salyon continued, however, emphasizing that positive messages have been received about their (Iranians') readiness, but we must wait to see when they will return to the JCPOA negotiations in Vienna and do so.

America's political approach towards Iran

Sullivan had previously said in a meeting with Eyal Khulata, the head of Israel's National Security Council, that the US government believes diplomacy is the best option to curb Iran's nuclear program. He also reiterated US President Joe Biden's warning that the United States would consider other options if negotiations with Iran fail.

Over the past few days, the United States has repeatedly emphasized the need for the Islamic Republic to immediately return to the JCPOA revival talks in Vienna.

Robert Malley, the US special representative for Iran, told reporters that Washington is increasingly concerned about the Islamic Republic of Iran's reluctance to return to nuclear talks. "We are at a critical juncture in our efforts to explore revitalizing the JCPOA," he said.

Iran has not yet taken any significant steps in response to the US officials' request and has not announced a specific date for returning to the JCPOA talks in Vienna. Ali Bagheri, Iran's deputy foreign minister for political affairs, had previously said that the talks would resume by the end of November.

The Vienna talks, known as the "JCPOA revival" talks, have been suspended since the end of Hassan Rouhani's administration and have not yet resumed despite the coming to power of Ebrahim Raisi's government.
