"75,000" cases of domestic violence were registered in Iran's forensic medicine in 1400.

An official from the Forensic Medicine Organization announced on Wednesday, June 15, an increase in the number of registered conflicts in Iran, and stated that the number of registered domestic violence cases, including spousal abuse and child abuse, in 1402 was approximately 75,000.
Farzaneh Mehdizadeh, Director General of the Forensic Medical Clinical Examinations Office, announced the total number of conflicts registered in forensic medicine to be around 600,000, emphasizing that this number of conflicts in one year is "a very high number."
According to this report, of the 600,000 cases of conflict in 1400, which increased compared to 1399, about 400,000 conflicts were related to men, and approximately one-third of the conflict referrals were related to women.
The forensic medical official also reported examining about 75,000 cases of all types of domestic violence in 1400, adding that this amount was equivalent to 37 percent of the total number of types of examinations in forensic medicine.
Spousal abuse and child abuse are cases that fall under the heading of domestic violence.
Roozbeh Kordoni, head of the Iranian State Social Security Research Institute, said last year that domestic violence in large cities has increased by 77 percent in recent years.
The statistics provided by official centers on conflicts and domestic violence are based on the cases filed in these centers and do not reflect the actual statistics of all conflicts and domestic violence cases.
