20 Trillion Tomans in Corruption at Zakani’s Municipality

A member of Tehran City Council announced the discovery of a 20 trillion toman corruption case at Tehran Municipality.

“Naser Amani,” a member of Tehran City Council, regarding the 20 trillion toman corruption case that Tehran’s mayor and municipality spokesperson had previously discussed, said: “The Tehran Municipality spokesperson announced that a corruption case has been discovered at Tehran Municipality amounting to approximately half of the municipality’s budget, which is around 20 trillion tomans, and this figure was very shocking and disturbing.”

He also stated regarding requests for case details: We asked the municipality through the media to present reports to the members of Tehran City Council as representatives of the people, but so far nothing has been delivered to us.

Also, citing ISNA, Naser Amani, emphasizing that “Zakani,” Tehran’s mayor, also discussed this 20 trillion toman case in his press interview, added: “Mr. Zakani, with his statements, confirmed the existence of such a case, and we are waiting for him to present a report on this matter to the city council or to release more details of this case to inform public opinion.”
