A Number of Christian Converts Arrested in Shiraz

Local sources have reported the arrest of at least ten Christian converts during a gathering at a house church in Shiraz.
On Friday, the fourth of Dey month 1394, a group of Christian converts had gathered to commemorate the “Christmas” ceremony (the birth of Jesus Christ) as well as on the eve of the New Year, when plainclothes officers suddenly raided the location, arrested them, and transferred them to an unknown location. According to the report, Mohsen Javadi, Elaheh Izadi, Mohammad Golshani Kia, Reza Mohammadi, Mahmoud Salehi, Musa Sari Pour, Alireza Ali Ghanbari, Mohammad Reza Sultanyan, “Brother Khalil,” and one other person (with unknown identity) have been arrested. The armed security officers were equipped with radios and side arms, and the manner of treatment and arrest of these citizens has been described as “insulting.” The personal belongings of those arrested as well as satellite reception equipment at the location were confiscated and destroyed. Up until the time of this report, no accurate information has been conveyed regarding the location of detention and the condition of those arrested.
