Bus Carrying Isfahan Refinery Workers Overturns, Killing Four and Injuring 17

The overturning of a bus carrying employees of the Isfahan oil refinery on the morning of Sunday, November 24, resulted in the deaths of at least four people and the injury of 17 others.
The bus was traveling from Yazanshahr toward the refinery when it overturned on the new ring road of Khomeini Shahr (Najafabad) district.
Mohammad Sadegh Hajian, public relations director of the Isfahan Oil Refining Company, stated that the bus had “no safety issues” and the driver was “experienced,” but due to slippery road conditions and deviation from the dirt shoulder, the vehicle overturned.
According to the ISNA news agency report, he stated that the bus carried 21 people including the driver, noting that four people died and 17 were injured, with 13 of them transferred to hospitals.
Based on forensic medical statistics, approximately 17,000 people were killed in traffic accidents in Iran in 2019, and more than 347,000 people were injured.
