Explosion Sound in Bushehr “Was Part of a Defense Exercise”

The political and security deputy of Bushehr province stated that the explosion sound heard around the Bushehr nuclear power plant was caused by a military exercise conducted on the morning of Monday, December 29.

Around five o’clock in the morning on Monday, December 29 (December 20), an explosion sound was heard around the Bushehr nuclear power plant.

According to FARS news agency, the political and security deputy of Bushehr governor announced to journalists that this sound was related to a military exercise held above the Bushehr nuclear power plant.

Mohammadtaghi Irani said: “In line with the necessary preparations to increase the defense capability of the armed forces, a military exercise was conducted above the Bushehr nuclear power plant this morning, Monday.”

According to him, this exercise was conducted at five o’clock in the morning local time and “with the necessary readiness and full coordination of the armed forces.”

The political deputy of Bushehr governor emphasized that prior notification about this exercise had been issued.
