Death of a Suspect in Tehran Police Detention

Hrana News Agency – A suspect who was detained by Tehran Shahpour Intelligence Police on drug-related charges has suspiciously lost his life.
According to Hrana News Agency citing Kurda, a suspect in Tehran has suspiciously died in one of the detention facilities of law enforcement.
The identity of the deceased has been identified as Milad Jafari, 25 years old, originally from Kermanshah and a resident of Tehran.
According to a report citing one of this citizen’s relatives: “Milad Jafari was arrested on Thursday, the 18th of Farvardin, on charges of drug-related crimes along with beating by Tehran Shahpour Intelligence Police. In response to the family’s inquiries about the fate of this citizen, the Intelligence Police stated that he was not there. After repeated follow-ups by the family, Kahrizak Forensic Medicine contacted them and asked them to come to collect the body. After the Jafari family’s visit to Tehran Kahrizak Forensic Medicine, photos of Milad’s body were shown to his father and they stated the cause of death was a fall from height while in detention.”
This informed source stated: “These claims by forensic medicine come while bruises on the body and traces of bleeding on the face of this citizen were visible in the photos, and his family believe the cause of his death was torture. Milad Jafari’s body was transferred to Tehran Kahrizak Forensic Medicine on Friday, the 19th of Farvardin, but law enforcement announced the date of death of this citizen on Monday, the 22nd of Farvardin.”
According to this informed source, Milad Jafari’s family emphasized that they will refuse to hand over the body until an autopsy is performed and the cause of their son’s death is clarified.
