Earthquake in Golestan Province Leaves at Least 10 Injured

Officials of the Iranian Red Crescent Organization reported that at least 10 people were injured as a result of an earthquake in Golestan Province.
The Iran Students News Agency, ISNA, reported on Monday, September 17, citing the director of the control and coordination center of the Red Crescent Society’s operations, that at least 10 people were injured in the early morning earthquake in Ramian, Golestan Province.
Hossein Dorokhshan added that based on reports received through village administrators and assessment teams, some buildings suffered damage in the Qorchay and Viro areas.
The Iranian Geophysics Institute assessed the magnitude of the earthquake, which occurred at 2:04 AM near Ramian, at 5.1 on the Richter scale.
According to the institute’s report, the epicenter of the earthquake was 3 kilometers from Ramian, 9 kilometers from Azadshahr, and 10 kilometers from Khan Babin in Golestan Province, with a distance of 61 kilometers to the center of Golestan Province.
