New Claim by Judiciary: Protesters Were Shooting in Isfahan

Iran’s judiciary spokesman claimed on Tuesday, December 7, that all detainees from Isfahan protests have been released except for individuals involved in “armed shooting.”

Zobeidollah Khodaian made the “shooting” claim by some Isfahan protesters while, based on videos and images published on social networks, dozens of elderly and young protesters were wounded by pellet bullets and lost their sight.

In these same videos and photos, one can see security forces and plainclothes members of the Islamic Republic shooting at protesters.

Reports from official medical and human rights sources also confirm the issue of eye injuries from pellet bullet impacts and loss of vision in one or both eyes in this province.

Mr. Khodaian, without referring to this matter, only said: “130 people had been detained and warrants were issued for them, some were released immediately and most of them were released yesterday. Except for individuals involved in armed shooting, the rest were released on bail and security bonds.”
