Reverend Varvar Avansyan Passed Away to Eternal Home

Reverend Varvar Avansyan, servant of the Evangelical Free Church of Iran, known as “The Sweet Voice of the Gospel in Iran,” passed away to his eternal home at 6 AM on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in a hospital in Tehran.
Due to kidney failure in recent years, he underwent dialysis twice a week, and last month after a dialysis session, he fell into a coma due to technical malfunction of medical equipment in a state hospital.
On December 28, 2012 (Christmas), Varvar and his wife Rima, along with 60 members of the home churches under his leadership, were arrested and spent 15 days in the notorious Evin Prison.
The staff of FCNN news network and all servants of the Christian organization 222 mourn the separation from Reverend Varvar, alongside his wife, dear sister Rima, and their children Melanie, Risa, and Steve. We pray that in these difficult days, the Holy Spirit will meet all their needs and bring them comfort.
In the coming days, we will provide more information about the funeral service and the life story of Reverend Varvar.
