Shahrouz Sakhnoori (Alex) Executed This Morning, 30 Ordibehesht

The Judiciary announced the execution of Shahrouz Sakhnoori, known as Alex, this morning on 30 Ordibehesht.

Shahrouz Sakhnoori was arrested in 1399 on charges related to an “international human trafficking” case and was extradited from Malaysia to Iran. According to the Judiciary, the defendant was arrested in Malaysia with Interpol coordination and transferred to Iran.

In 1400, Sakhnoori was sentenced to death in the Revolutionary Court.

The indictment against Sakhnoori was issued based on confessions and obscene and indecent videos retrieved from his mobile phone. According to the Mizan news agency, Shahrouz Sakhnoori, known as Alex, is a senior manager of a branch of an international network for trafficking women and girls in Dubai, which operated under Alex’s supervision and direction.

This international network had significant influence, to the extent that it had the capability to obtain a Malaysian visa and invitation letter within 24 hours.

The Judiciary sentenced five defendants in this case to 15 years imprisonment and the second-ranked defendant along with Shahrouz Sakhnoori to execution. Sakhnoori, along with 7 others who were sentenced to death, were transferred on 27 Ordibehesht to solitary confinement in Rajaei Shahr Prison in Karaj for execution.

Early this morning, Saturday, 30 Ordibehesht, the execution sentence of Shahrouz Sakhnoori was carried out. In recent weeks, the pace of execution orders has sharply increased. Yesterday, defendants in the Khaneh-e Esfahan case were also executed, executions that sparked a wave of anger and protest.
