Anisha Asadollahi and Keyvan Mohtadi were arrested

HRANA News Agency – Labor activists Anisha Asadollahi and Keyvan Mohtadi were arrested by security forces at their home today, Monday, May 9, and taken to an unknown location.

According to HRANA News Agency, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, at 2:00 PM today, Monday, May 9, 2022, Anisha Asadollahi and Keyvan Mohtadi, labor activists, were arrested by security forces at their home and taken to an unknown location.

As of the time of writing this report, there is no information available about the reasons for the arrest, the charges brought against them, and the location of these citizens' detention.

Anisha Asadollahi and Keyvan Mohtadi have previously been arrested and sentenced for their activities. Ms. Asadollahi was arrested and sent to prison on May 1, 2019, coinciding with International Labor Day, during a rally held on the occasion, along with a large number of activists in this field. She was ultimately sentenced to one year in prison and 74 lashes by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court on charges of disturbing public order, and her sentence was suspended for 6 months. She was arrested on January 4, 2019 after being summoned to the Evin Courthouse’s Sentence Execution Branch and released from Evin Prison on February 2 of the same year.

It is worth noting that Anisha Asadollahi graduated from Khajeh Nasiruddin Toosi University of Technology with a degree in electrical engineering and was working as an English teacher in private schools before her arrest.
