Protests continue in Iran; gatherings in Isfahan and Iwan Gharb

Protest demonstrations were held in Baharestan, Isfahan, and Iwan Gharb, Ilam. In Baharestan, Isfahan, a large portrait of Ayatollah Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was set on fire. The protests in Iran began in Khuzestan and have been going on for 13 days.

Protests continued in some parts of Iran on Tuesday evening, July 27. Videos posted on social media showed protesters gathering in Vali Asr Square in Baharestan, Isfahan, and Iwan Gharb in Ilam.

In one of the videos released, attributed to the Baharestan protests in Isfahan, one of Ayatollah Khamenei's banners is set on fire.

In the city of Avan, west of Ilam, protesters also protested the power outage by creating traffic jams.

The Iranian protests began about two weeks ago in Khuzestan. People in various cities in Khuzestan province protested against the lack of water and the government's lack of management.

In response to the protests of the people of Khuzestan, instead of solving their problems, the government dispatched special guard forces and began to suppress them.

These protests later spread to neighboring provinces of Khuzestan and then to various regions of the country, including Tabriz, Tehran, Karaj, Bojnourd, and Kermanshah.

Protesters in most of these protests chanted the slogan "unity with Khuzestan."

In videos released from the Baharestan protests in Isfahan, the slogan "Khuzestan, Isfahan, unity, unity" is also chanted.

Protesters in Baharestan, Isfahan, also chanted slogans such as "Iranians with zeal, support, support" and "We don't want the Islamic Republic, we don't want it."

Before that, the town of Mahdieh (Dare Darizh neighborhood) in Kermanshah witnessed a second protest by people against the lack of water and electricity and support for the people's protest in Khostan.

According to the human rights organization "Hengao", 20 people were arrested by security agencies during these protests and transferred to an unknown location. The organization has announced the identities of 9 of the arrested protesters.

Residents of the Darederich neighborhood have said that "since yesterday, this neighborhood has been completely secured, and security agencies have been searching their homes in addition to arresting citizens."

A number of Tehrani citizens also protested on Jomhuri Street on Monday morning, July 26. The protesters chanted slogans such as “Death to the dictator,” “Shame on Khamenei, leave your country,” “Neither Gaza nor Lebanon, I will sacrifice my life for Iran,” and “The tank cannon is a firecracker, the mullah must disappear.”

Human rights organizations, including Amnesty International, reported that eight people were killed in the Khuzestan protests. However, the Islamic Republic of Iran has put the death toll at four, including one officer.
