The upward trend in the exchange rate in Iran continues; the dollar continues to move within the 18,000-toman channel

Continuing the upward trend in currency prices in Iran, on Monday, June 16, each US dollar was priced at 18,280 Tomans in the open market.
According to media reports in Iran, the euro rate in the free market has reached 20,300 tomans, and each British pound is trading at 22,300 tomans.
The increase in the price of the currency in Iran began on the first day of this week and has set a new record today. Also, the new design of the new Bahar Azadi coin was sold for 7 million 700 thousand tomans and the old design coin was sold for 7 million 350 thousand tomans.
According to reports, the price of the dollar in the first half of last year was between 11,000 and 12,000 tomans, but in the second half of the year, due to the increase in gasoline prices and domestic protests as well as international tensions with Iran, the price of the dollar reached 15,000 tomans in January 2019.
US President Donald Trump said in December last year about Iran's economic situation: "Iran is a different country. Iran is now full of uprisings and rebellions. We imposed strong sanctions on the Islamic Republic. Their economic growth fell by 25%. We can never allow the Iranian regime to have nuclear weapons. They are arming the rebels."
The United States withdrew from the JCPOA after President Trump took office, declaring that the nuclear deal had failed to prevent the destabilizing activities of the Islamic Republic, the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism.
