Prince Reza Pahlavi protests rape in Iranshahr with the hashtag "fake security"

Prince Reza Pahlavi reacted to the news of the rape in Iranshahr in Sistan and Baluchestan province and protested the lack of investigation and cover-up of this crime in the Islamic Republic with the hashtag #security_cover-up.

Prince Pahlavi wrote on Twitter: "In the 40th year of the criminal sect's aggression against the body, soul, and mind of the Iranian people, especially women, the girls of Iranshahr have been raped in broad daylight. In the government of criminals and corrupt people: prison and torture are for freedom-seekers and justice-seekers; and complete freedom and security are for torturers and aggressors."

Prince Reza Pahlavi's reaction to the publication of news about the rape of a group of women in Sistan and Baluchestan province.

A few days after the news of the rape of a group of women in Iranshahr and the announcement of the arrest of one of the main suspects in the case, the publication of news of the suspect's connection to "institutions of power and wealth" raised concerns about how the case would be handled.

Maulvi Tayyeb Mollazehi, the Sunni Friday prayer imam, spoke in his Eid al-Fitr prayer sermons about the rape of 41 girls in this city.

On Monday, June 19, Tayyeb Siavoshi, a member of the Women's Faction of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, confirmed the statements of the Friday prayer imam of Iranshahr regarding the rape of a group of girls in Iranshahr, telling IRNA that her follow-up from "unofficial sources" showed that the person arrested in this case "enjoys a position of power and finance."

However, it is still unclear exactly what institutions this MP meant by the connection of the main defendant in this case to institutions of power and wealth.

On the other hand, while the dimensions of the case remain unclear and contradictory news has been published about the number of victims of the incident, the Attorney General of Iran on Monday called the story a lie as it was presented and announced that the source of the news about the rape of a group of women in Sistan and Baluchestan will be prosecuted.

According to him, because only two or three people have complained, the issue of a group of women being raped, or the rape of more than 40 women and girls, is a lie.

The publication of news of the rape of a group of women and girls in Iranshahr on Sunday led to a protest march by the people of the city.

Hours later, the Iranian Minister of Interior ordered the governor of Sistan and Baluchestan to investigate the rape of a group of women and girls and to provide a detailed report to Iranian citizens.

At the same time, one of the concerns about this incident is how the families treat the victimized women and girls.

Mohammad Baluchzai, a local administrator in Sistan and Baluchestan, wrote on Twitter that most families of rape victims consider their daughters a stain on their family's reputation. According to him, in similar cases, some families take the step of "physically eliminating" their daughters.

He expressed hope that the responsible institutions would provide the necessary advisory assistance.

In this regard, Mawlavi Abdul Hamid, the Sunni Friday prayer imam of Zahedan, in an interview with ILNA News Agency, requested that Iranshahr girls who have been raped file complaints without fear in order to properly address this issue.

Stating that these girls are innocent, he said, "No one has the right to treat them badly or deal with them, because they are innocent."

Official reports indicate that following a complaint filed by a girl about 10 days ago, two other girls have filed complaints about kidnapping and rape in the past, but unofficial reports indicate that the main suspect who was arrested has confessed to about 40 cases of rape of women and girls.
